There are very few boats for sale on the used boats market.
The demand has remained very strong on the Caribbean used boat market and is almost exclusively oriented on catamarans. Sales prices are rising for catamarans.
WHY ?
A SMALL FLEET
If we want used boat, boats must arrive on the market! However, we have experienced two COVID years during which few new boats arrived, whether they were private sailors who had not sailed in the Caribbean or boats for charter.
Many boats sailed back to Europe or North America during these periods: what’s the point of having a boat in the islands if you can’t come!
A STRONG INCREASE IN DEMAND
Our clients are mostly young retirees, but after these COVID years , this clientele seems to be more motivated than ever to leave! Epidemic, political situation, war etc. …..
We are in a “$” zone and the dollar rate combined with a strong demand inevitably leads to an increase in prices.
The sales of new boats are at their highest and the delays are getting longer and longer!
ALL THIS SHOULD BALANCE OUT IN ONE OR TWO YEARS.
DON’T FORGET THE MONOHULLS! THE PRICE DIFFERENCES ARE MOTIVATING!
